A Siren’s Pearl [Baekhyun x Reader]

The moon was exceptionally bright tonight. Like a large glowing orb, it hung above the ocean, its shape mirrored in the dark waters. Soft waves rippled through the image, distorting it momentarily. The silver glimmer of the ocean captured your gaze with its beauty.
It was during nights like this that You felt particularly melancholic. Your heart ached to hear the sound of the crashing waves, the thundering of the water when it collided with the cliffs. You longed to listen to the cries of the seagulls and the wind as it rustled through the bushes. The sand beneath your bare feet should not have been silent while you walked, but it was.
You were trapped in a soundless world, unable to enjoy the lively melodies of nature. A deep sadness had grown in your chest, your heart feeling heavy. You missed listening to music, and you missed dancing to the beat of your favorite song.
A frown settled on your face as you lingered on the nightly beach. Nobody was here except for you. The cage of silence surrounding you was easier to bear when you were alone. It was easier to imagine sounds when nobody was here to bother you. Your imagination was all you had left.
You had lost your hearing about a year ago in a horrible car accident that had changed your life fundamentally. The head trauma you had suffered had been the cause for your hearing loss, and you had been forced to come to terms with it since it would be permanent.
Your predicament had uprooted your life and caused you to lose your vitality. No longer could you listen to your favorite singers, attend your weekly dance lessons, or play the guitar. It was pointless when you couldn’t hear anything.
In your desperation, you had chosen to make a crucial change in your life. You had moved away from Incheon and bought a small secluded house on Jeju Island. Here, you weren’t bothered by painful old memories. Since you worked from home, it didn’t matter where exactly you lived—another good reason for a change.
The sudden hearing loss made your life difficult in many ways. When speaking to people, you couldn’t hear your own voice, and neither could you hear theirs. You were dependent on reading people’s lips since most did not know sign language. During the past months, you had become quite good at lip-reading, but even so, you were reluctant to speak to others. The accident had changed everything.
You couldn’t explain why you had been drawn to Jeju Island in particular, but its closeness to the sea had been attractive. For your whole life, you had adored the ocean. It was incredibly beautiful, during sunny and stormy days alike. The wild rolling waves were majestic, showing the raw power the water possessed.
The ocean held many secrets mankind had yet to discover. It captured your curiosity, made you want to dive down and uncover them yourself. After your passion for music had been smothered, your love for the sea had grown until it became the only thing that brought your joy.
You lingered at the edge of the water for a long while, watching the moon’s reflection on its surface. As you felt the wind in your hair and the water lapping over your toes, you imagined a plethora of sounds that were as mesmerizing as they were beautiful.
 ***
You didn’t have to work the next day and planned to use your free time to explore the path you had discovered yesterday. It had been easy to miss since it had led right into the undergrowth shielding one of the smaller beaches. The locals didn’t seem to frequent this path because it was overgrown with plants. Since you were new to the area, it roused your curiosity.
The sun beat down on your head while you walked, following the small path that led you through the foliage. Eager to find out what awaited you at its end, your steps quickened. In your haste, you kept tripping over loose stones and small roots in the ground.
You were relieved when the forest opened up, leading you into a lonely lagoon. Sheltered by large cliffs, the area was hard to access and you had found the only way to enter it on foot. You strolled over the secluded beach, your eyes drifting over the sparkling blue water. As you got closer to the waves, you set down your backpack, leaving it behind along with your shoes.
However, you stopped and froze when you heard something. At first, you thought your mind was playing tricks on you. Maybe you had lost your mind, maybe your desperation to hear sounds got the best of you.
A soft humming reached your ears—you heard it clearly. Could this really just be your imagination? Intrigued and confused, you approached the rocks to your left to see what was hidden in the water beyond them. The humming grew louder as you got closer. A deep male voice began to sing a song so dark and alluring, it left you stunned.
Regardless of how odd this was, you needed to find out to whom this voice belonged. In order to prove you weren’t going insane, you had to see the person with your own eyes. So you climbed up the rock and peered down.
Directly below you, someone floated in the water. He had messy black hair and the bluest eyes you had ever seen. Droplets of water ran down his bare chest, disappearing into the sea. The water in the lagoon was crystal clear, allowing you to see something that should not have existed. Your wide eyes fell on a large fishtail that replaced his legs. It was slender and moved with powerful elegance to keep him above water. Its entirety was covered in glimmering scales, reflecting the color of the sea and the sky. The fin was large and incredibly pretty. You had never laid eyes on someone so fascinating and couldn’t keep your gaze off of him. Was he a siren? You had to be hallucinating, there was no way he was real!
He had long since noticed you and studied you with his deep blue eyes while he continued to sing. You hardly realized he wasn’t human—his melodious voice was all you could think of. To hear someone sing for the first time in a whole year was overwhelming! It roused many emotions and brought back unforgettable memories. You hadn’t heard anything in so long—just how was this possible?
As you kneeled on the rock, your eyes filled with tears. They quickly welled over and ran down your cheeks. The cage of silence you had been living in suddenly wasn’t there anymore. You weren’t shut out any longer, and it felt amazing. In your joy, your tears wouldn’t stop.
The beautiful stranger in the water watched you attentively. He was astonished by your unusual reaction to his song. Confusion shone in his eyes. When you didn’t move closer anymore and lingered in the same place for too long, he raised his voice and his song became louder. It was inviting, beckoned you to join him in the water, but you resisted. You wanted him to keep singing and you had a feeling he would stop once you would approach him.
Again, he seemed puzzled, changing the colors of his song. It went from dark and enthralling to upbeat and captivating. His blue eyes traced your expression, eager to see your reaction. Intrigue flashed over his face once he realized his magic was not working on you. He swam up to the rock, resting his arms on its surface while he sang.
You were incredibly grateful to hear his voice, and when you finally calmed yourself and stopped your tears, you decided to tell him. “Thank you,” you said quietly.
Now you had captured his interest when it should have been the other way around. He ended his song and stared at you in stunned silence, wondering why you had thanked him. You smiled sadly, your shoulders slumping when you realized he wouldn’t sing any longer. Perhaps you shouldn’t have said anything…
“What’s your name?” he asked, startling you since you weren’t used to hearing people speak.
You told him your name, and after a few moments, you added, “Can you please sing for me again?”
He inclined his head. An emotion crossed his expression, but it was gone in a second. Had it been hope? Suddenly, he raised his arm and extended it towards you, holding out his hand for your to take. You glanced at his face, your eyes flitting to his smirking lips and his hand. Your heart skipped a beat.
“If you join me,” he answered, once more surprising You when you heard his voice loud and clear. Before you had thought your decision through, you placed your hand in his.
The smirk on his lips widened and his fingers tightened around yours. He pulled you towards him abruptly, making you lose your balance. With a startled scream, you landed in the water.
The coldness of the sea engulfed you, swallowed you whole. His grip on your hand was relentless, pulling you into the ocean. You felt the movements of his fishtail against your legs. He swam very fast and they left the lagoon behind within seconds. Fear emerged from deep within you, its icy tendrils taking hold of you. Did he intend to drown you? What was he doing? You suddenly remembered something—weren’t sirens known for luring humans to their deaths? They used their voices to trick them, and then they dragged their unsuspecting victims deep into the sea.
Instantly, you fought the siren’s grip, your eyes moving up to the bright surface. Reaching it was the only way to get air into your lungs. The siren noticed something was off and stopped swimming, hovering in the water in front of you. His hold on your hand became gentler, comforting. You stopped struggling, overcome by confusion—just what did he intend to do?
He met your gaze and looked deep into your eyes as if he was searching for something. What it was, you didn’t know, and you were too worried to care. You knew you wouldn’t make it to the surface before your air would run out—it was too far away. When the burning in your lungs became too much, you gasped. All remaining air left your body. Countless tiny bubbles rose towards the surface and with them, your hope waned.
The siren seemed alarmed at this and did something that caught you off guard. Letting go of your hand, he cupped your cheeks and bridged the distance between them. His lips met yours. He breathed air into your mouth, easing the burn in your lungs. You barely registered the softness of his lips before they separated. He put his arms around your waist and shot up towards the sunlight. Seconds later, they breached the surface and you gasped for air.
You looked around, and unfortunately, the beach was far away. Waves rocked your body back and forth. You wouldn’t make it back—you couldn’t swim this far. Tears gathered in your eyes, but this time, they weren’t caused by joy. You didn’t like this situation one bit.
The siren held you above water with his arm around your waist. If it weren’t for him, you would have gone under. “Who the hell are you?” you blurted and threw him a cautious glare.
“I’m Baekhyun. Don’t cry, I won’t hurt you,” he answered with a frown.
“You pulled me underwater!”
“I needed to check something, and that was the only way to do it. I’m sorry I scared you… I guess I should have warned you,” he answered, giving your more questions than answers.
“What are you talking about?”
He tilted his head, watching your calmly. “You’re not like other humans. My songs didn’t work on you,” he muttered. “It seemed like you were interested in me for a different reason.”
“It’s because I can hear you even though I’m deaf. At first, I thought I was hallucinating.”
Baekhyun smiled. “Don’t worry, you’re not hallucinating,” he said. You could have sworn his hold tightened a bit.
“I don’t understand any of this, to be honest,” you mumbled. Slowly, your fear receded, drowned out by your curiosity. Nothing Baekhyun said made any sense—just who was he and why could you hear his voice?
“Let me explain it to you. Every siren spends their life looking for one person. There is one person in the world who is immune to our song, and that is who we’re destined to be with.”
“W-What?” You stuttered. “It can’t be me, though.”
“It is you.”
You felt his fin fluttering against your legs as you floated in the waves. All this was surreal to you, as if it originated from one of your silly daydreams. Sirens being real—you hadn’t quite wrapped your head around it yet, but your curiosity was piqued. You wanted to find out more about them… and about Baekhyun. If only you could trust him, but after he had pulled you under, you were a little uneasy.
“Are you okay?” he asked when you failed to answer.
“I’m confused,” you replied, narrowing your eyes. “So what you’re saying is that you were looking for me?”
“Yes. My whole life,” he said, embracing your tighter. Your body was squished against his bare chest and abs, and you flushed bright red, feeling the ridges of his taut muscles through your wet clothes.
“B-But how can you be so sure I’m the right person?”
“There are two ways to tell. The first is that my songs don’t work on you like they normally would. And the second is that the eye color of a siren’s soulmate changes to blue when they’re in the ocean. It’s proof of their bond to the sea, and it happened to you while we were underwater.”
Soulmate. You needed to let that sink in for a second. Truth be told, this would explain many things. First of all, why you had always been so fascinated with the sea, why you longed to sit at the beach and watch the waves for hours. It couldn’t have been a coincidence you had been drawn to it once more after your tragic accident.
“So you weren’t trying to drown me,” you mumbled.
“I would never drown you,” he said, the corners of his lips curling down. “I promise. You’re safe with me.”
His voice, his damn voice. It sounded soft and soothing, like honey and velvet and so many other things. You wanted to listen to it more often.
“I still have many questions.”
“And I will answer them,” he replied, his eyes moving from You to the faraway beach. “We should return now. You’re shivering.”
He didn’t wait for an answer, securing his hold around your waist. Turning on his back, he kept your pressed against his chest so your head wouldn’t be underwater as he swam. He glided through the waves effortlessly. You were envious of his ability to move this fast in the water and not only that. He seemed to have no issues with breathing underwater and staying beyond the surface for extended amounts of time. If only you could do the same—you would be able to explore the deepest and most mysterious places the sea had to offer.
Within a minute, he had brought your back to the lagoon and helped your climb on a rock. The warm sunlight felt amazing on your skin, and you enjoyed it. Baekhyun pulled himself up on the rock as well, sitting beside you with his fin dangling into the water. You couldn’t stop looking at it since it was incredibly beautiful. The way the scales glimmered under the sunlight reminded you of a pearl that gleamed in all colors of the rainbow. Your gaze followed the line of his fishtail up to his hips where the scales disappeared and faded to milky skin. His defined abs drew your attention, and you found yourself staring at him. He was too attractive to be real—you couldn’t believe this person was supposed to be your soulmate. You hadn’t even known soulmates existed until today.
“Are you done admiring me?” he chuckled, causing your cheeks to turn pink. You cringed and redirected your gaze to the waves.
“Sorry,” you mumbled embarrassedly.
“It’s okay,” he grinned. “It probably doesn’t happen every day that you meet a real siren, does it?”
“No, I always believed the stories about sirens were just… stories,” you admitted before you blurted,  “Your tail is so pretty.”
“Want to touch it?” he chuckled, almost as if he had read your thoughts.
Flustered, you reached out your hand, the tips of your fingers brushing over the colorful scales. They felt solid and were a bit wet.
“You can swim very fast with this,” you said before you raised your voice. “How long can you stay underwater?”
“For hours if I want to,” he said and shrugged. “It’s not a big deal.”
A melancholic smile spread over your lips as your gaze moved to the horizon. “I wish I could do the same. Must be amazing to swim with fishes and dolphins…” You sighed sadly.
“I’ll go diving with you if you want,” he suggested. “All you need is diving gear so you can breathe underwater.”
“Really?! That would be amazing! When?”
“Whenever you have time. I want to see you as often as possible. You have no idea how long I’ve searched for you.”
He winked and you felt your heart swell. You would be lying if you said you weren’t attracted to him. Baekhyun was gorgeous, and the fact you could hear his voice made you indescribably happy. The connection you shared with him was undeniable.
Your hand inched closer to his, slowly, shyly. When your fingers touched, he took your hand and held it. “Can we do it tomorrow?” you asked in anticipation.
“Yes, let’s meet up tomorrow. Same place, same time. And then I will show you the ocean as it looks from my perspective.”
 ***
From this day on, you met Baekhyun whenever you had time, eager to hear his pleasant voice, eager to get to know him. You had plenty of questions about sirens and their lives, and you enjoyed seeing the ocean from a different point of view.
Baekhyun often went diving with you, showing your beautiful reefs and colorful swarms of fish. You could never get enough of this and only would agree to return to the beach once your oxygen flask was empty. Baekhyun loved seeing your reactions to his world. How your eyes would light up once you spotted something new—be it a small fish or a different sea creature—and how a smile would grace your features.
He held your hand while you dived and helped guide you. With his fin, he was more agile than you, so you sometimes asked him to pull you along. It was exhilarating to swim so fast… and to be close to him and feel his arms around your body. You felt safe when he was diving with you because you knew he wouldn’t let you drown.
You met like this every day for a week—and by the end of it, you were sure you had developed feelings for the handsome siren. He never left your thoughts, and the beautiful sound of his voice became something you looked forward to every day. You often asked him to sing for you which he gladly did.
It was no different today. After you had returned from their diving tour, you sat in the sunlight on a rock, dangling your feet (and his glimmering fishtail) in the water. Your eyes closed and you listened to the soft sound of his voice as he sang a song just for you. His hand was linked with yours, fingers intertwined. The sun felt warm on your skin, and a light breeze ruffled your hair—it was heaven on earth.
You felt happy—and like many times before, his song brought tears to your eyes. They ran over your cheeks, dripping down your chin. Wiping your eyes, you gazed at the wide ocean in front of you.
Baekhyun watched your, furrowing his brows as his song ended. “Why are you crying? Are you sad?”
You smiled. “No, not at all! It’s the opposite. When I hear your voice, I don’t feel isolated anymore. It’s an overwhelming and beautiful moment for me. Even more so when you’re singing.”
“I will sing for you as many times as you want, my pearl,” he mirrored your smile.
“Thank you, Baekhyun. It means the world to me.”
“Is there a way for you to regain your hearing?” he asked as he pondered over the possibilities. “Perhaps through surgery?”
You shook your head. “No, the doctors said they couldn’t do anything. I used to miss my hearing, but since I met you, it’s much easier to accept the way I am now.”
“I’m glad I can help you,” he hummed. “I want to be there for you whenever you need me.”
His words warmed your heart, so you gently squeezed his hand and smiled at him. How lucky you were to have a soulmate like him—you truly had been made for each other. There was no other way to describe the beautiful connection you shared.
“I wish you could leave the ocean to stay with me. I own a little house not far from here… maybe you would like it,” you said, dipping your head as you imagined him exploring your home.
“Oh, I can leave the water. It’s no issue,” he replied nonchalantly, making your jaw drop.
“H-Huh?”
“I think you’re mistaking me with mermen and mermaids—but I’m a siren. Sirens aren’t confined to the sea. If we were, why would we have human soulmates? If I want to, I can walk on land. I’ve done it before while I was searching for you.”
You didn’t get over your surprise and gaped at him. “W-What?! Why didn’t you mention this earlier?” you sputtered.
“Now you know,” he smirked.
“Is there anything else I need to know about sirens?” you asked, raising your eyebrow.
“Dunno,” he shrugged, mischievously grinning at You. “Perhaps you’ll find out later.”
“Okay, okay. Let me rewind for a second. You can… walk with actual legs?”
He cracked up, his melodious laughter filling the air. “How else would I walk? Should I show you?”
“Yes!” you said, staring at his fin. It morphed, the scales disappearing and the tail separating into two legs that looked perfectly human. In disbelief, your gaze followed their shape, moved higher, and higher, and—
“Eeep,” you squeaked. “Y-You’re naked!” You snapped your head around and looked somewhere else. Red flared over your cheeks.
“Of course I am,” he replied matter-of-factly and unbothered.
“Shameless idiot,” you grumbled and threw a towel at him. “Use this!”
“Why are you making such a fuss? You’re my soulmate, so it shouldn’t be a big deal.” His amused chuckle reached your ears, and you only looked at him when you were sure he was decent. “You’re flustered,” he murmured, leaning in. Your gaze was captured by his sunlit eyes and you drowned in the blue depths of his gorgeous iris. “Stunning.”
“Don’t tease me,” you whispered, a pout on your lips.
“It’s too tempting,” he mumbled. There was a noticeable spark in his eyes—and it soon grew into a flame, reflecting longing. His eyes flitted to your pouty lips, and back up to your eyes. All of a sudden, your heartbeat sped up and your cheeks flushed. Did he want to kiss you…?
You were torn from your thoughts when his hand gently cupped the apple of your cheek, thumb caressing your skin. “I can’t get enough of you,” he breathed so quietly you barely heard him. Hot puffs of air fanned over your lips, making you shudder in bliss as he inched closer. His gorgeous blue irises bore into yours—and then he closed the distance between your lips.
Your first real kiss with your soulmate was magical. His lips melded with yours, gently tracing the seam of your mouth. Drops of water fell from his wet hair and cascaded down his face as you wrapped your arms around his neck. His bare chest touched yours, and you felt every breath he took. You tasted a hint of salt on his lips, mixed with something sweet. A joyful smile grew on your face—kissing your soulmate made you feel whole. A new sense of happiness exploded within you and filled you to the brim.
Slowly, your lips parted, but you remained close to him and gazed into his eyes.
“I love you,” he whispered, prompting you to blush. For more than one reason, hearing him say these three words was a miracle, and you couldn’t believe your luck. Having a soulmate like him who shared your passion for music and the ocean was a gift from heaven.
“I love you too,” you replied without hesitation, pecking the corner of his mouth. “I don’t know what I would do without you, and I’m glad I decided to come here.”
“Me too,” he said and cast his gaze on their linked hands. The long years he had spent searching for you had been fruitful. In the past, his throat had often hurt from singing for hours, wishing he could somehow reach you like this. But of course, it never worked. It was quite ironic that a siren’s soulmate was immune to the magic of a siren song.
Despite this, it had been the sound of his voice that had caught your attention first. You loved hearing him speak and sing, and Baekhyun could never get enough of seeing the wondrous glimmer in your eyes as you listened to him. Finally, he had found his pearl, and he would stay at your side forever.
“Every single night The sapphires in your eyes appear I’m a scuba diver who is swimming in the sea Every time I dive I leave my heart to you.”
(Baekhyun – Bungee)

ateez reacts: making up with their s/o
💌 This is: Requested | Alot of you have asked for a part 2 of the arguement reaction and now here I am to deliver all of you its part 2
Hongjoong:
A week. That’s what it took long for Hongjoong to go after you. After you had left the shared apartment, it was never the same for him again. Hee started coming to work hours late, work productivitiy low and once caused destruction on the coffee machine because the coffee didn’t taste the same just like how you’d do it. He was slightly thankful that he still has his job despite the mess he placed upon himself.
Hongjoong knocked on the door to your parents’ house. A bouquet of flowers in his hand to let you know that he always has you on his mind. As the door opened, he was surprised to a new you. A new you wherein there was this certain glow in you, the wrinkles and tiredness away from your face. The sense knocked into Hongjoong: he was the cause of the problem.
“W-What are you doing here?” You asked, staring at him and then eyeing the flowers in his hand.
Hongjoong smiles and hands you to the bouquet, to which you accept. “I came here to apologize. You might still hate me and seeing my face right now is probably making your blood boil...but I’ll get into it. I’m sorry, and I miss you. Marrying you is the best thing I ever did. And I’m ready to give you all the children you and I wish to have. But, I’ll give you more time and space. It’s what you need right now. It was nice seeing you, Y/N.” As Hongjoong was about to leave the walkway, a hand gripped on his forearm. His heart raced inside his chest, as he turns around to face you, a soft smile paints your small lips.
“Stay with me.”
Seonghwa:
After plates, knives and forks were thrown to one another, Seonghwa took a break on you and met up with other women. Going on dates and having drinks with them, he couldn’t even look at them the way he would look at you. It had been half a year since he lost contact with you. Until one day, while he was about to get ready to go on a date with this women who his friend set him up with, he received a phone call from an unregistered number. Nevertheless, he picked it up.
“Hello?”
“This is Park Seonghwa, right?” On the other line sounded like a voice of an older woman.
“Who is this?”
“I’m sorry for calling without notice. I’m Y/N’s mother. Y/N has been missing since last night.” Seonghwa couldn’t hear anything what your mother is saying, quickly taking his keys, phone and wallet before dashing out the door.
“Where was she last seen ma’am?” He quickly gets inside his car, pressing the keys to start the engine.
“Central Park in the city, the one called Seoul forest. We called for a search team earlier today but they couldn’t find her.” Your mother’s voice began to break, Seonghwa’s heart started to beat immensely.
“I’ll bring her back to you” He says before ending the call and driving off. You see, Seonghwa didn’t used the word “try” in his sentence. It is because whether it takes him hours, he would thoroughly look for you all by himself.
And deep within the forest, Seonghwa kept yelling your name, it was dark and cold and he’s all alone. His suit all covered up with sweat, dirt and leaves. As he went further, Seonghwa found an abandoned bus inside the forest, he didn’t know how could a bus fit in the forest’s narrow road but he went aboard it alas, found you in the middle row.
He wanted to get mad at you, scold at you for getting your mother and him worried. But he couldn’t bring himself to do so, instead, he wrapped his arms around you and hugged you tightly, breaking into small sobs.
“I didn’t think it would be you who’d find me” you whispered, burying your face on his shoulder.
“I should’ve hugged you the last time I saw you”
Yunho:
You lifted your suitcase up and strolled it inside the airport. A week program in Jeju is exactly what you needed to get your life back together. Finally, it is you. No more hiding and pretending to be someone you’re not for Yunho.
While waiting to be called in the immigration, you sat at the lounge area, scrolling through your phone when you heard a commotion and rushed footsteps, tilting your head, you saw a crowd of men, women and Yunho? You watched as Yunho moved his head right and left as if he was looking for someone, and when your eyes met his, he walked towards you.
“Isn’t that Yunho? What’s he doing here?”
“Who is that Yunho going to? Isn’t he and Nayoung together?”
“Whoever she is, she’s ruining their relationship”
“You’re leaving without saying goodbye?” He asks, you scoffed, closing your phone. “I’ve already said my goodbyes to everyone. Except you. Why should I?” Standing up, you grabbed the handle of your luggage and was about to wheel it away when Yunho caught its handle.
“And you’re leaving, just like that?” You spun around, looking at Yunho in the eyes with your tears forming.
“We tried to make it work right?” Despite the tears threatening to fall down and your nose turning red, you smiled to him.
“Yunho, I’m tired.” You whispered as a tear slips out of your eye. “I looked for you in places I knew there would be you. But it was you who kept walking away, and I’m tired of chasing you.” small sobs finally broke out, but still, a crowd of women surrounded the two of you with camera’s pointing at you both.
“I’m sorry.” Yunho says, head hung low. “I’m sorry if I made things worst for the both of us.” He pauses, catching a tear fall down on the floor. “But now I know, that you’re really for me. Even if its going against my family, I’d do anything for you to keep you in my life.” He finally lifted his head up, eyes red and tears streaming down his face.
Yeosang:
“The worst thing I ever did is that...I depended my happiness with you.”
Yeosang and his other woman were caught redhanded by you last night. And you hated how he showed no mercy or remorse for you.
“But I wanted to say thank you for you. Thank you for all the memories we’ve shared. Even if it was short, I’ll treasure them. The good and the bad. Goodbye, Yeosang.” And with that, you got up and left.
San:
There was no closure between the two of you. You and San separated paths together and have been doing everything you both wanted. And you think it’s better that way, because you were done and tired. Having to put up with him always was draining you emotionally and physically. As if its only you who cares about the relationship. Although he left you traumatized, you were slowly coping up before you could face the world again.
Mingi:
Red. That was all you could see. You trashed and threw everything in sight, causing a mess all over your room and it took about five people to stop you from destructing your whole room. You wondered if you really deserve love at all, because right now, all you ever feel is rage.
Wooyoung:
Woo took his sweet time and met with multiple women, hooking up with them on random nights before calling a cab to take them to the nearest hotel. But get this, Woo never kissed them. Not once. He never got off with them, and often time, he would get annoyed at how whiny and demanding they could get in bed. And one night when he couldn’t sleep, his thoughts drifted to you. He wondered if you were sleeping well right now, where you are and wondering how well you are. His thoughts brought him back to all the memories he shared with you. A small smile paints his lips until he groaned, lifting his head slightly as he sees his cock erected up.
“You miss her too, huh?”
Jongho:
A day after you and Jongho fought, he started to become around at home more often. He would lightly scold you if you did house chores as he would always volunteer to do it for you and would tell you to just lay down and take a rest. Whenever the baby would cry in the middle of the night, Jongho would only tell you to go back to sleep as he could handle this. And you did, you went back to sleep, only to be awake a few minutes after about how cold the spot next to you is.
Slowly you got up and went over to the baby room, your heart swelled at the sight of Jongho sleeping in the couch with your child laying down on top of his chest.

when: 2020.07.07 @ 1:30 pm where: hiking to cheonjeyeon waterfall, jeju with: @seonavld
At such an hour, it was perhaps best that he had been convinced to bring a hat sufficient enough to block out the sun, although, of course, the baseball cap left the back of his neck vulnerable to the rays that were perhaps all too determined to provide an unwanted tan or burn. In most situations he would have forgone sleeveless shirts and shorts for something that better hid the tattoos that rather readily gave away his identity, but it was his hope that being off the beaten path would be plenty cover for them to enjoy but a sliver of time away from prying eyes and quick camera snaps.
The thin material of the white tank top stuck to his back by this point in their hike, plastered there by the backpack he’d volunteered to carry as it held their drinks, snacks, and other supplies such as sun cream and jackets. Fingers furled around the straps of the knapsack, the soloist looked to the woman beside him, a soft smile on his lips as he drank in the only source that could... well, quench his thirst. Perhaps that was... dramatic. But true. Endearingly, adoringly true.
Around them the forest breathed, sheltering them from the rest of the world in ways that Seoul and other modern elements could not. Here they were free to an extent, a feeling that blossomed in his breast as he reached for her hand, gently intertwining their fingers as dark eyes hidden behind equally dark lenses returned their attention to the trail before them. It was gut wrenching to know that if anyone saw them that such a sight as hand holding could ruin their careers, and despite how it felt as if it had been hours since they’d seen anyone else, his heart still raced anxiously at the possibility of being photographed together.
“I don’t know how you can hike in those things,” Deoksu commented, glancing down at her shoes with a chuckle. “A testament to your strength.”

             WELCOME JEONG SOOYUN
                                                         TO THE PROMISE LAND
DETAILS
age / age they appear: 716 / 26 occupation: haenyeo diver group: none
PERSONALITY
She was meek in her young age, playing among the rivers and other Imugi she came across. Some would say she was carefree until her own kind began to be hunted. Sooyun turned observant, quiet and careful of who she talked to, even when venturing into the human world. Much of her time was spent as a serpent where she slowly learned the language of the humans around her. As she got older, Sooyun’s perception of the world began to change her, while still cautious she allowed a kind nature to those she encountered, a smile that sparkled like the waves she created. Other Imugi would occasionally come by to trade and admire how she watched over her rivers, protecting them from humans and other creatures alike.
Coming to Jeju Island, she has kept most of her soft demeanor and quiet nature but mostly stays secluded, away from everyone else. She is easy to make conversation with but her guard is always up, ready to defend herself if need be. Locals know her as a sweet young woman who helps out when she can when she is not diving with the other women. The last century on this island has toughened her skin and the pierce of her gaze when things begin to turn south. She has learned to protect herself and will do anything to keep herself and the few she holds close safe.
HISTORY
Sooyun didn't have a name for the first couple centuries of her life, all she remembers is the flow of water across her skin. Following her small river that flowed into what is now called the Geum River. It was all she knew as she swam her little river up and down the currents. She loved when new streams and creeks would form after heavy rainfall since it meant she could explore more of the land. It was her duty to protect the rivers and lands that passed through for all creatures to survive on. Once in a while there would be humans that splashed about but it didn’t become so common until centuries later as they built their kingdoms and roamed the lands. Sooyun was still able to travel as she pleased but it meant to be more in secrecy with her human form, casually walking through villages, observing their nature. Her rivers soon began to change, first it was blood, then dirt, as if the human didn’t care about the water she lived in. Then there were rumors of beings other than humans hunting her kind of horns and scales. Luckily she was still young and did not appeal to the hunt but the centuries have shown her of the lives her kind has lost. So she stayed hidden, hardly venturing out and collecting anything that seemed worthy floating down her currents. But as more centuries went by, her streams and creeks began to dry out, her own river grew smaller every year. Then a war broke out. More humans came to her lands, started building and “damming” up rivers for human use.
It was like in a blink of an eye her rivers were all gone she was now free of her guidance and protection to the rivers. But that was all she knew and breathed her whole life. Sooyun was younger than most Imugi and as far as she knew, still hadn’t grown into her dragon form, though she was showing signs. Sure she mingled in human life and knew the basics but in reality she was lost and didn’t know what to do.
That’s when she heard about Jeju Island from a Gumiho she had crossed paths within the forest surrounding Busan, a place for someone like them. They called it a safe haven for those running or looking for a new home, and it was surrounded by water. Sooyun was scared to go but the Gumiho gave her some courage, and even the name that she carries with her, Jeong Sooyun. For almost 80 years, Sooyun has lived on the south side of Jeju Island in solitude, in most recent years, disguising herself as a relative of a local “haenyeo” or sea woman diver that wants to continue the family tradition.
It’s a shame she only got to enjoy the peacefulness of Jeju for a short time before it was evident the situation on the island was not as it seemed. Though she kept to the south side of the island, alone in her little home, there were talks of clans beginning to clash among the other supernatural creatures, internal and external, human hunters becoming aware of their presence. It was bad enough that it seemed her kind was already a rare sighting, and on occasion still hunted, but now she had to protect herself not just from the other creatures but humans as well. She has seen enough war to know what it brings but Sooyun has learned over the centuries to stay out of wandering eyes and to be ready for anything.

BTS AU / Jeju Heir (Part One)
Paring: Kim Namjoon x Kim Seokjin, Kim Taehyung x Jeon Jungkook, Min Yoongi x Park Jimin + Jung Hoseok Plot: A magical school for all those lucky witches and wizards. But what is about those who are not allowed to attend. Those who never got their letter. Or the children who got expelled. And what happens to those poor Squibs. One thing is clear they are not part of the wonderful life all the students have at Jeju School of witchcraft and wizardry. Warnings: Angst,... Words: 994
A/N: I love Harry Potter and BTS. So this happened. ^-^
Tumblr media
I can't get enough of the beautiful colours the forest portrays, the green leaves leaping the golden sunlight, illuminating the small glade. The rushing of the waves can be heard in the distance and I love the beautiful sounds all those exotic birds make. I slowly rais my wand. A small chuckle escapes my lips when all those colourful butterflies stream out of the tip, swirling around me until they slowly fade. It just needs a small flicker of my wand and the dead flower nearby me blossoms again more gorgeous than before. I slowly walk down the path leading through the forest, enjoying the warm light of the sun and the salty smell coming from the sea. I shiver. All the warmth from a second ago is gone. I'm getting cold and the sun quickly fades only leaving darkness. I feel exposed...lonely. The birds have stopped singing a long time ago. It's deadly silent. Frantically I rais my wand ready to defend myself, but against what? I don't even know. But there is this terrible fear creeping upon me consuming all my thoughts. It' about to happen any minute. All my sense seem to fail.
"Lumos!" I try to steady my voice but it's no use. The light that I expelled is missing. I try again. Again. Again.
"Please." I'm not sure if I should cry or curse. It's about to happen a minute. I'm a wizard I should be able to defend myself, but I can't even cast a simple spell.
It's so close.
I have to try again. I fidget with my wand, speaking the words over and over again, screaming them until my throat is sore. I have to...
It's too late.
Breathing heavily he jumps up, suddenly fully awake. Slowly his tired eyes get used to the dim room. His room. He is safe. Just a stupid nightmare again.
"You okay!" He jumps when suddenly all lights turn on and Taehyung enters his room, looking worried. "You screamed."
"Oh...shit, sorry."
"It's alright, Namjoon. Another nightmare?" The younger asks giving him a smile.
"The same one, like always. Did I wake you?" Namjoon mumbles, feeling bad for always troubling the other children. But no potion he tried helped him to get rid of those nightmares. He would always wake up in his bed covered in sweat.
"It's alright. We have to meet with Jimin in a few hours anyway." Taehyung opens the older's closet to quickly get him a new t-shirt so Namjoon can change into something that isn't soaked into sweat.
"Thanks." The older mumbles, accepting the dry clothing, he thankfully changes into the t-shirt, already feeling better.
"You haven't talked to the oracle about it, right?"
"Why should I? The old woman can't help me with my nightmares." Namjoon scoffed, passing the younger to head right to the kitchen, he really needs a strong cup of tea now. Preferable is own special mixture he would always drink after one of this nightmares.
"Maybe they have some deeper meaning. It could be one of them messing with your head." Taehyung suggested, following the older, genuinely sounding concern.
"I'm not a magician, why should they care?"
"That you're a Squib doesn't mean they don't care." The younger wizard tries to reason, but it only makes Namjoon sick to hear that word: Squib.
He accepted that he is one, but still, it hurts. After all, it’s the reason that he hasn't seen his family for years. How deeply they had hoped, how deeply he had hoped that he as just a late bloomer. His parents had lost any hope after the doctor visited, telling them that he has no magic. A disaster for a pure-blooded family. All his sibling's powerful wizards since they were little. There hadn't been any other option than to ban Kim Namjoon, the squib, the disgrace out of his beloved home.
Still, he has this slight hope inside himself that he would get his letter that the doctor was just wrong and on his 11th birthday he would prove them all wrong.
No letter.
But isn’t it possible that the headmaster doesn’t know that he isn’t living at home anymore? He went there silently, scared to meet any of his family members. Seeing their disappointed faces once was enough. But according to the house elve, he asked, no letter.
That was the point when something finally snapped inside of him. He really is a disgrace to his family. A Squib is even worse than being a muggle.
After a while, all that self-hatred turned into anger. Against his family and the ministry. How dare they make him an outcast, he is still pureblooded, still one of them.
"You're mind is going wild again?" Taehyung points out. "What about the potion the oracle gave you?"
"I take it don't worry. I mean it's doing the trick. I feel a lot calmer with it even though it doesn't help with the nightmares."
"I mean having nightmares is logical as a sq...non magician. Knowing about this world without any powers..."
"You feel weak. Powerless" Namjoon cuts him off, nodding slowly. His hands are still shaking while he slowly prepares his tea, adding the same ingredients as always, and lastly a few drops of the potion he got from the oracle. The mixture is always able to calm him after a really bad nightmare.
"Let's hope, Jimin has some good news." He breathes in the scent of his tea, the liquid still hot to drink.
"He is good. I just hope Jimin gets useful information." Taehyung answers a lot more optimistic than the older. "Oh, and we will take a broom but you'll sit before me. I don't want you throwing up at me again."
Namjoon immediately blushes, not able to deny that something like that actually happened before, but that ride wouldn't be as long and after all, it is important for them to not be seen.
"Let's do this."

PBS’ Darley Newman On 2021 Travel Trends
Darley Newman on Jeju Island, a nature lovers retreat in South Korea that is generally known as the “Hawaii of … [+] Asia”
Travels with Darley.
PBS journey host Darley Newman is an ubiquitous and welcome presence on the community, because of her fashionable present, “Travels with Darley,” which will also be watched on a free app, Journy. The present pandemic has made her insights and observations extra useful than ever and the journey guru has been enlisted to host an internet occasion with Smithsonian Associates on October 21 (tickets here) on Greatest Locations for 2021.
I caught up together with her not too long ago in anticipation of this Zoom occasion to ask her about her journey predictions for 2021.
Everett Potter: Will the pattern for trip in Nationwide Parks and Forests proceed to Rise?
Darley Newman: Sure. As they’ve begun to reopen, we’ve seen a spike in visitation to nationwide parks and forests. These are nice locations for social distancing, unplugging and taking in nature, making them comparatively COVID-friendly outings. Plus, many are positioned inside driving distance from main city areas, making them accessible to massive populations. Journey to those locations with proceed to rise with individuals working to tout their “59 Membership” standing for visiting all 59 full-fledged nationwide park websites. Now, that may win you bragging rights!
Potter: What different trip choices have seen an uptick that may proceed into 2021?
Newman: Spa, wellness holidays and ‘Clear & Inexperienced’ will pattern. Many people had been wiping down lodge room distant controls and airline seat trays earlier than, however much more vacationers shall be on the lookout for motels, airways and hospitality teams to take the lead and showcase their cleansing and sanitization practices, in addition to sustainability as local weather change turns into an more and more sizzling subject. Good locations will promote these practices not solely on their web sites, however by ads, articles and different media with a purpose to acquire shopper confidence and loyalty. Holidays that make you’re feeling good and promote well being and wellness will pattern. Individuals shall be in search of out these resorts and locations and particularly on the lookout for smaller, boutique choices which are off the crushed path experiences. Trip leases selling COVID cleansing practices will buzz by phrase of mouth referrals and on-line claims and can proceed draw in additional bookings and might be able to cost a bit extra to compensate for his or her efforts.

Potter: How about staying native?
Newman: I believe native holidays and staycations will rise, as will native pleasure of place. Vacationers will proceed to trip nearer to house, each discovering and re-discovering locations inside shorter drives. Tourism boards and conference and guests’ bureaus, that are already starting to re-emerge and market drive time escapes, will proceed these efforts. Vacationers will come to know that journey is actually accessible proper on their again doorstep and are available to worth and volunteer extra of their local people and nearer to house, a silver lining to the pandemic.
Potter: What’s essentially the most sudden pattern that you just assume will occur in journey in 2021?
Newman: Effectively, I believe that touchless tech and even robots will turn out to be regular. Years in the past when the Japanese started changing increasingly workers members with robots, many shoppers, as nicely consultants within the hospitality trade, shuddered. New developments in robots cleansing rooms and welcoming visitors, QR code menus, cellular room keys and different touchless options will turn out to be each wanted and welcomed.
Potter: On a extra sensible stage, what about versatile reserving practices and insurance coverage gross sales.
Newman: If you happen to’ve booked a flight not too long ago, you will have seen which you can way more simply make modifications to your reserving, even proper as much as the takeoff. It will proceed for flights and holidays, because the journey trade works to make it simple for individuals to journey. Vacationers will even search out insurance coverage insurance policies to carry their trip’s worth in case they should make modifications and can really learn the wonderful print to ensure they know the way and if they will make modifications. Vacationers will spend money on “cancel for any motive” insurance policies for giant ticket holidays.

Potter: How about journey agent and advisors?
Newman: Journey advisors will acquire extra traction with vacationers, who search to have experience on how and the place they will journey, reassurance for his or her holidays and methods to get their a refund ought to the necessity come up.
Potter: What do you see by way of worldwide journey for Individuals?
Newman: COVD-19 profitable locations will pattern upwards. Locations like Greece and South Korea, who did significantly nicely in retaining COVID numbers down, shall be wanted trip spots… IF we’re in a position to attain them.
Potter: The RV craze reveals no signal of stopping.
Newman: RVs will proceed to be rad. Based on sources RV’s elevated by 650% in Might, and can proceed to pattern upwards as individuals search to trip whereas staying extra remoted for well being and security causes. TV reveals might debut that includes tricked out RVs, vans and different self-contained strategies of journey, together with manufacturers hopping into the combination to showcase these areas and adventures. You could even see extra of those episodes from yours really!
Potter: There’s all the time been a show-off facet to journey, particularly on social media. However given Covid-19, do you factor that may proceed?
Newman: I believe that particular and fewer visited locations will turn out to be increasingly coveted! Earlier than, seasoned vacationers might have touted and even bragged about their journey to a brand new, much less found locale. Transferring ahead, these common vacationers might tighten their referral networks, sharing details about the place to go in a “whisper” in order to not let too many individuals learn about these locations.
Potter: We’re all a bit bored with digital journey, however what do you assume 2021 holds for digital experiences?
Newman: Digital will proceed to pattern. Digital journey experiences, TV reveals, on-line occasions and academic alternatives will proceed to be fashionable and rise in recognition as individuals search to proceed to complement their lives, join with others and study in regards to the world safely. Cautious vacationers and those that have compromised well being or with family and friends with well being points will journey much less and to much less dangerous areas.

Writing this, I am currently in Seogwipo, Jeju, South Korea and decided to join the free Jeju Olle Walking Tour Program. At first, I was at lost because I realized that most of the participants would be Koreans and I didn’t even know what is this all about. But I still proceeded with the plan thinking it would be worth it because I have already stopped making itineraries since day one in South Korea and just spontaneously go to places I have thought while having breakfast.
At 8:00 am, I went downstairs of KKodak Kkodak Guesthouse to eat my jam and toast breakfast in time for the 8:20 gathering with other participants in our guesthouse. There were 8 of us and hopped on the van going to the meet-up point. Heading west, the sceneries were just wide roads, random museums, and tangerine farms and it went on like that for almost an hour.
Arriving at the meet-up point, there were at least 20 people already there chatting in Korean that I could not even guess what was the fuss was all about. The ajjummas (aunties) and ajjussis (uncles) were wearing their brightly colored jackets and hats along with hiking poles. My outfit of the day was barely known to be trekking because all along I thought it was just a walking tour. Plus, I haven’t seen any single foreigner so I guess I was the odd bird in the flock. I was comforting myself “It will be fine! Just go with the flow”.
Forty-five minutes past nine, all of us gathered and the harabeoji (grandfather) leader made a short speech then we started walking the Jeju Olle Trail 14-1. We were walking on a one-way cemented road leading to vegetable farms and horse cabins with some smell of horse shit in the air. You could really think that you are truly in a countryside but it was truly a break from the hustle and bustle cities. The chilly breeze blowing and the gentle sun rays warming your skin were the best elements for the trek.
After the endless roads, we approached a steep trek going to a summit of a little mountain. We reached the peak in only a few minutes and the scenery was splendid. Away, you could see the windmills standing outright like toys while surrounded by evergreen forests. Horses were also around freely running and walking without being any awkward to coexistence with humans trekking.
Tumblr media
After trekking down, we entered a forest where some species of flora and fauna exists undisturbed protected by laws of the self-governing province of Jeju Island. The path was full of ups and downs, and a bit of rocky so people should wear comfortable and non-slip shoes to avoid unwanted accidents.
An hour since the start, we arrived at a picnic area in the middle of the forest. Proudly to say, I was one of the few trekkers who arrived first in the area as I don’t want to be left when my pace becomes slower. I saw the ladies bringing out foods and I also took mine out. They brought tangerine, apples, candies, and biscuits. Luckily, I also brought my tangerines given by a stranger while on a bus and sour candies to share. It was a fun picnic. They started talking to me also asking where I am from because they were really curious also. So, we chatted while waiting for others to arrive and eat their light snacks. The ladies kept offering me food and who am I to say no so I just kept munching whatever they gave me then I say my kamsamhamnida (thank you). There were two men in the group, Park and Jun Yung or Joe, and only them could speak English so they were like translators for the women to have a conversation with me. Also, both of the guys have been to Philippines, Manila and Cebu, so they were extra chatty in telling their tales. And in exchange, I never forgot to promote our Davao City to any foreigner I met.
A little stuffed, we continued the trek with me in the middle of the pack. The path was still full of trees and ferns then it suddenly ended to a Green Tea Farm called Osulloc. It is a famous farm in Jeju with attached cafe wherein you can sip a tea and relax. Then the men and women started to queue for a stamp on their Jeju Olle Passports at the side of the farm.
According to Korea Tourism site, there are 26 trails around Jeju and each of this leads to beautiful landscapes, beaches, villages, and forests. Koreans are known to be trek lovers so they have this passport wherein they stamp each page of the trails they have completed. I find it really amusing because they are really passionate in trekking.
Tumblr media
Overall, I think the trek can be done by beginners. Slopes were not that inclined and there were only a few of it.  Most of the time, we were just walking in a plane on the 14-1 trail but will still make you sweat. And I assume that your Jeju trip would not be complete without any short trek whether it going to a falls or just to the nearest bus stop.
The struggle started after the trek; isn’t it ironic. I forgot I was told earlier by the guesthouse owner prior the walk that the trip time was shortened and they could no longer pick us up back to Central Seogwipo. And I really find Jeju’s bus system hard to navigate and time between bus arrivals are long, from 30 minutes to an hour. The ladies with me from the guesthouse were also gone because they were in hurry to I don’t know where. Luckily, Joe who was also a solo traveler stays near my guesthouse who also happens to be at lost where to go because of the shortened trip which should be ending at 3:00 pm instead of 12:30. In the end, we agreed that we will just go back to the Central Seogwipo and he’ll help me on my way back. To thank him, I treated him to a meal near our guesthouse.
Jeju Olle-gil Trekking Experience Writing this, I am currently in Seogwipo, Jeju, South Korea and decided to join the free Jeju Olle Walking Tour Program.
